nashville wedding photographer
All about me
Hi! I’m Allie, and I’m a Nashville based photographer! It’s so easy in this profession to get caught up in trying to learn so much about you, that I forget to take a moment and let you learn about me; and I think that you should know about me, so that together we can make our time together as incredible as we can!
I live just thirty minutes south of Nashville in Franklin, TN and love it here! I was born and raised in the Nashville area and love every day that I get to spend in it. I am married to a wonderful man named Jacob Hopkins (so my last name is actually Hopkins, but I decided to keep my photography account as Allie Chambers Photography because people have known me as such up until this last year). Together, Jacob and I have an Australian Shepard puppy named Franklin (cheesy? Yeah we know) and we love him to pieces! In my spare time I enjoy being outdoors, watching the Office, traveling, and reading!
When I was 12 years old, I would constantly take my mom's point-and-shoot camera and concoct mini shoots with my dog, friends, and even myself sometimes. The photography bug started then, and it hasn't stopped since. I actually didn't study photography at all in my undergraduate degree; I studied Psychology and Spanish, and it is amazing how that perfectly ties into all of the work that I do. I started branding and taking my photography seriously during my junior year of college, and it’s bloomed into what it is now since then! My journey has been marked by many bad edits, strange photoshoots, and odd freelance experiences; but it has brought me to some of the most incredible and beautiful people (inside and out!) that I’ve ever met in my life.
Although I’m primarily a wedding photographer, I enjoy not limiting myself to that one style of shooting. I’ve photographed houses, newborns, families, and more, and have loved each of those styles in a completely unique way. The transition that I’ve made in the last year to primarily weddings has been one that suits my passions well right now though, and I could not be happier with it.
At the end of the day though, I just love capturing moments. There is so much beauty in individual moments, beauty that shouldn’t be forgotten with time; like your first kiss after you say “I do” to that person you’re going to spend the rest of your life with, or your baby’s first cry as you see the newness and beauty in it’s eyes. That spark of confidence that lights up during a portrait session when you feel beautiful for the first time in a long time, or that very first picture you get as a new (and growing) family. All of these moments are so valuable in our lives, and I am so honored to get to be a part of them, camera in hand, to capture the pieces that make up humanity one image at a time. That’s the best thing about my job, and I am so honored and blessed to have it.
